How Our Lawn Mowing Service Works
1. Free On-Site Quote
We walk your property, identify your grass type and any problem areas, and give you a flat-rate quote on the spot. If you don't need weekly service, we'll tell you that too.
2. Scheduled Service with Oversight
Josh Owen is your Lawn Care Specialist and point of contact on every visit. He oversees the crew and communicates with you throughout the service. We mow at the right height for your grass type, blow off hard surfaces, and leave walkways clean. Grass clippings are mulched back into the lawn for soil health unless you prefer bagging.
3. Cleanup and Walkthrough
We haul away all limbs and debris and do a final walkthrough with you before calling the job complete. The remaining payment is not collected until you’ve approved the work.

Common Questions
When should I mow my lawn in Central Texas?
Weekly mowing runs late March through October during peak growing season. November through February, biweekly is usually enough. Mowing height depends on grass type — St. Augustine wants 3.5–4.5 inches, Bermuda 1.5–2.5 inches, Zoysia 2–3 inches.
How often should my lawn be mowed?
For most Central Texas lawns, weekly mowing during the growing season is ideal. The rule of thumb: never cut more than one-third of the blade length in a single mow. Yard Scouts builds your schedule around your grass type and growth rate.
Can I do it myself?
DIY mowing is fine if you have the right equipment and time. A professional crew like Yard Scouts uses commercial-grade mowers with sharp blades, mows at the correct height for your grass type, and shows up consistently every week. Read our guide on how proper mowing height improves lawn health.
